Sheikh Hasina is married to Dr. M.A. Wazed Miah, a renowned nuclear scientist. They met while studying at the University of Dhaka and got married in 1968. Sheikh Hasina Family Assassination history 

Sheikh Hasina, the Ex Prime Minister of Bangladesh, survived an assassination attempt in 2004. Meanwhile, her family has faced multiple tragedies, including the assassination of her father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and several family members in 1975.

On August 15, 1975, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, was assassinated along with most of his family members, including:

1. Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib (wife)

2. Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni (son)

3. Sheikh Jamal (son)

4. Sheikh Russell (son)

5. Sultana Kamal (daughter-in-law)

6. Rouf Russell (grandson)

The assassination was carried out by a group of military officers. Sheikh Hasina and her sister, Sheikh Rehana, survived as they were abroad at the time.

Sheikh Hasina has also faced attempts on her life, including a grenade attack in 2004, but she survived.
